Huawei Launches Sound X Wireless Speaker in UAE

Huawei takes on Apple once again with its HomePod-like wireless speaker, the Sound X, which packs serious audio tech from French premium audio brand Devialet. Known primarily for its high-end and innovative speakers like the Phantom Reactor 900, Devialet brings much of the technology that makes them special to the Huawei Sound X. The Huawei Sound X is available to purchase for AED 1.299 on the online store from Huawei, experience stores and select retailers in the United Arab Emirates. All purchases come with a 3-month VIP subscription to Huawei Music. Featuring a rounded cylindrical design with a glossy finish, the Huawei Sound X looks a lot like the Apple HomePod, except it's heavier at 3.5kg and comes with a larger power adapter. The notable feature of the Sound X is its dual woofers that use Devialet's ``Push-Push'' technology to cancel vibration, while delivering powerful bass frequencies. This means the speaker won't shake or distort when you play loud or high-frequency music. There's a colored LED on the speaker that supports gesture commands, like placing your hand on it to mute the reading. The bottom is covered in a wraparound mesh fabric that houses 6 full-frequency tweeters for 360-degree surround sound. According to Huawei, the Sound X is capable of adjusting its sound profile while maintaining surround sound, depending on the speaker's placement, whether it's in the middle of the room or in a corner against a wall. If you have a Huawei phone, you can use OneHop NFC Audio Sharing to pair your phone with a simple tap and effortlessly switch your audio stream to the speaker. Although the Middle Eastern version of the Sound X contains the same audio technology as in China, it lacks the "smart" side of things. Huawei's US ban means the Sound X can't use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, making it a very sophisticated wireless speaker.
