Huawei has confirmed that its Kirin A1 wireless devices will soon be available in India, with considerable progress in terms of connectivity and efficiency.

Huawei India hosted a press conference to introduce its new Kirin A1 chipset and its capabilities. It's the world's first chipset for wearable devices of all kinds, including headphones, smart watches, and even smart glasses. It was a product of Huawei's €13.5 billion investment in research and development last year.

The Kirin A1 chipset uses a two-chip architecture for efficiency, with one or both individual chips capable of performing the remote task based on its intensity. This is one of the main reasons why these upcoming wearables have longer battery life than the competition.

Based on a 22nm fabrication process, it implements Cortex-M7 cores, which have been tuned to consume just 10μA/Mhz of power, a third of the industry standard. At the same time, the graphics processing unit is activated only if necessary, which increases efficiency.

Another interesting addition is the innovative dual-channel Iso-Synchronous Bluetooth connection, which solves the persistent dilemma of wireless devices regarding the priority that should be given to connection quality or power consumption. The Kirin A1 uses a combination of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Bluetooth 5.1 in a dual-mode connection that ensures low latency and low power consumption.

Bluetooth uses the same 2.4 GHz band as most WiFi connections. The Kirin A1 also has a feature that allows you to stay locked on the phone even in the event of interference, so your laptop won't lose connection, even in crowded places. These connections are device independent and fully work on non-Huawei devices. The company said transfer speeds of 2.7 Mbps could be achieved for high-quality audio streaming.

Although they don't explicitly specify which Kirin A1 products will be marketed in India, we expect the Huawei FreeBuds 3 with noise suppression and the Huawei Watch GT 2, which have a battery life of 2 weeks, a feat. unheard of in the smartwatch space. These products are available in other markets and await BIS customs clearance and other formalities before being shipped from India.
