How to Get Remote Raid Passes in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go Remote Raid Passes are not like other items in the game. You can't collect them by walking around town, spinning PokéStops, or opening gifts. Instead, you'll have to buy them using your cold cash, or collect them from special events.

You can currently purchase Remote Raid Passes from the Pokémon Go in-game store for 100 Pokemon each. You can also grab them in sets of three, though there's no discount for buying in bulk.

To access the store, head to the main map screen and tap on the pokeball symbol at the bottom. Then just tap on the icon with a shopping bag in the middle. From there, search for passes and purchase as many as you like.

Special Pokémon Go Community Events will sometimes reward players with Remote Raid Passes for participating. Given their value, they often aren't given away, so keep your eyes open to bag them when you can.

But don't be too greedy. You can only have a maximum of three of the passes in your bag at a time. If you have already reached this limit, be sure to use them.

How to use a remote raid pass in Pokémon Go

Now that you have a Remote Raid Pass, how do you use it? You have two options. First, you can go to the map screen and select any gym that is currently hosting a raid. Second, you can tap the Nearby button at the bottom right of the Map screen, select the Raid option, and view fights in progress near you.

Once you select a raid, you join it normally. There is no difference between the battle mechanics of a remote raid and an in-person battle, but the attack power of Pokémon controlled by remote trainers will be less than that of Pokémon controlled by players in person.

Remember that up to five players can join a raid remotely. If you try to register after you have reached the limit, you will automatically be placed in a new lobby.
