The Halo Infinite beta has finally arrived, and while its release has been delayed by several hours due to a series of technical issues, feedback has been largely positive so far. That's not to say all is well, though, as several players have reported frame rate drops, audio issues, and some pretty hilarious bot antics. Strictly speaking, though, this is a technical preview, as opposed to a true beta, and 343 reiterated that fact via Brian Jarrad, Halo Infinite's community manager, who tweeted that there were still "a lot of steps to go." before the game Xbox Series X launch comes at the end of the year. That hasn't stopped players from mocking the quiz's unpredictable AI, but not for the usual reasons you might think. Being a tech preview, the Halo Infinite beta pits players against bots, exclusively, rather than online multiplayer opponents, meaning these automated Spartans are, for many, very difficult to fight. So difficult, in fact, that some have reported robots moving in packs and heading for powerful weapons.
Had a great time playing Halo Infinite Tech Preview against the @Halo bots At one point I swear they were running around in a pack of powerful weapons 🤣 #HaloInfinite pic.twitter.com/8wA2pez3Fg Jul 30, 2021 See More Players also shared clips of robots that prefer to throw punches with their weapons and others that absorb bullets while furiously jumping around the map.
I don't know if this is a problem but the bots tricked me... bruh #HaloInfinite pic.twitter.com/ivvdcX9JsT Jul 30, 2021 See MoreNot everyone finds bots a challenge of course, but the Most praised the Halo Infinite beta for its "vicious AI" and refreshingly proficient difficulty from what is only a technical test, up to this point. Brian Jarrad also confirmed that the bots will get increasingly difficult as the beta continues, tweeting that players can expect "ODST difficulty" and a new map to play in the coming days.
