Google Meet Gets Small But Useful New Feature For Large-Scale Video Calls

Whether you're working from home or already in the office, Google Meet can make it easy for you to connect with colleagues and clients. The search giant's video conferencing software also supports up to 100 participants, making it a good choice for small businesses and corporate organizations. In November of last year, Google added the ability to create up to 100 different breakout rooms per call in Meet. However, deciding who goes to the breakout room and setting everyone up can be time consuming, so the company is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to set up breakout rooms before starting a meeting.

Set up group rooms ahead of time

Google Meet users can now set up breakout rooms in advance using Google Calendar, making meetings easy for teachers and leaders alike. If you're having trouble getting this feature to work, you can refer to Google's support document on using Breakouts in Meet. There are no admin controls or user settings to create workshops in advance in Meet, and this feature is now available to Google Workspace users as well as G Suite business customers.
