Google Docs can now predict what will enter next

Google Docs has received a major update that may ask you to ditch your usual word processing permanently. Auto-correct is now rolled out to all users, and Smart Compose is coming to anyone with a G Suite subscription, helping you work faster by guessing what to enter next. Both features are being introduced gradually, so don't worry if you don't see them yet; They should arrive in the next few weeks. Smart Compose first appeared for Gmail in 2018, automatically suggesting the next words in a sentence based on what you've already typed. It "learns" from your typing habits, and the results can become eerily accurate over time. The suggested phrase appears in gray, and you can click on & # 39; Tab & # 39; or right click to accept it. Alternatively, you can continue typing to ignore it. You can also choose to turn off Smart Compose if you don't find it useful (or wonder if you're actually a robot).

As 9to5Google points out, AutoCorrect also made its debut in Gmail. It works fine, but if Google chooses the wrong word, you can hover over it to reveal a "Cancel" button. You'll see that AutoCorrect is turned on by default in Google Docs, but you can turn it off by selecting "Tools > Preferences" and unchecking the corresponding box.
