Google Chrome 100 won't break the internet, but it could change the way you search for it

Finding a query in Google Chrome is soon going to be considerably simpler, thanks to an upcoming feature that adds a sidebar when browsing the web.

With Google's Chrome browser approaching version 100, we're already seeing certain features that can help change the way you use the browser, like improvements to closing tabs on Android, and we'll likely see other features as the huge release approaches. .

If you have multiple tabs open at once, this could be a great feature to search for while browsing. However, it seems that the sidebar is only displayed on one tab: it won't stay in exactly the same place when you switch between different tabs.

However, this is still a test feature, so the sidebar may change before it appears in a final version of Google Chrome.

As it stands, the sidebar is not free in Google Chrome XNUMX, but it is in the trial version of Chrome, called Canary.

Go to chrome://flags while running Google Chrome Canary version 100 and you will be taken to the flags page, where you can enable many features throughout the test.

In the search bar, type "Sidebar" and you will see 3 options. Enable all of these, then close and open the browser.

Search for a query and choose the first result. A "G" icon will appear next to the address bar. Click on , which will open the sidebar. You can then use it to search for something else while browsing the main window.
