Gears 6 could be in development based on job listing
(*6*)A new job listing has been detected, suggesting that Gears 6 development is underway.

(*6*)Job posting requires a Motion Capture Technician to join Gears 5 developer The Coalition and contribute to the Gears of War franchise (thanks, Segment Next). Not much is revealed about the nature of the game or what projects it has in the works. But the listing says: "We are the official home of the Gears of War franchise, and our goal is to shape the future of intellectual property and push the boundaries of Microsoft entertainment platforms and devices."

(*6*)Of course, the role may not be directly related to Gears 6. Other Gears of War titles have been released, such as Gears Tactics, although this was primarily handled by Splash Damage, rather than The Coalition. There could be a plethora of other titles in the franchise other than Gears 6, but with unfinished business in the main Gears of War story, that certainly seems like the most likely option.

(*6*)Since this pose is all about motion capture, which can be time consuming and expensive, it looks like The Coalition has big plans.

The future of gears

(*6*)The Coalition has been silent since the launch of Gears 5, which was released in 2019. While the game ended with a riveting cliffhanger, there's no guarantee The Coalition will see its modern trilogy.

(*6*)However, there was hope through the notorious Nvidia leak, which occurred in September last year. Gears 6 was included in the leak, leading fans to believe that the game was in development. With that said, Nvidia says that the leak cannot be taken as a confirmation of upcoming games, but only a speculative listing.

(*6*)We probably shouldn't expect Gears 6 anytime soon either. Late last year, a rumor surfaced that Gears 6 wouldn't be released for another three years. If The Coalition is just starting to recruit, the game is likely in the early stages of development.

(*6*)However, that won't stop fans from speculating, and eyes will be on the next Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase taking place on June 12. Can we see an ad? It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, especially if Microsoft really raises the hype for its upcoming titles.
