Flexispot OC14 Pro Ergonomic Chair Review

Flexispot OC14 Pro Ergonomic Chair Review

The Flexispot OC14 is a mid-priced ergonomic office chair with high "value for money". Its breathable materials, adjustable tension settings, and overall comfortable seating experience are worth considering for your setup, no matter your budget.

Unpacking

The entire Flexispot OC14 ergonomic chair comes in one box. Of course, it was a large box, which we probably could have climbed on once the chair was removed, but light enough to carry.

Upon opening the box, we were greeted with a plethora of parts and a very clear and easy to follow set of instructions, with a step-by-step process that helped us complete the build in minutes. It is true that we were surprised, as at first glance there seemed to be more parts than normal, but we quickly realized that this was because Flexispot had chosen to send the levers and headrest completely disassembled, instead of the main part of the chair for transport.

In total, including opening the box and even placing all of the packing materials in the box, we were able to complete this process in just under 10 minutes.

First impressions

Once the assembly is complete, you end up with a nice looking chair. We're fans of matte black in our test office, so we wanted the legs/base to be black, however the silver finish didn't look bad at all.

For the first hour of sitting down and adjusting the chair, the back was too loose, and to be completely honest, we weren't fans. It took adjusting the tension a bit out of the box to figure out where it's no longer a core workout of just sitting. Once we adjusted the tension to lean back, adjusted the seat where we wanted it, and made "final" adjustments to the headrest and armrests, we were very pleased with the result.

Design and build quality.

The overall design is built from a simple frame and chassis, but still looks professional and sophisticated. Although simple designs can sometimes seem cheap, in this case the chair looks elegant and more expensive than it really is. The quality of this chair makes it look like it will stand up to heavy use and last a while, especially if used in a home office.

Use

After several days of eight-hour work in this chair, as well as rotating between it and our standing desks, the Flexisport OC14 performed as expected.

It was comfortable without putting us to sleep and provided good support, although unfortunately there were no adjustable lumbar settings, so when we took a break and chose to sit, it offered comfortable relief. When we chose to sit all day, he didn't feel uncomfortable or wear unevenly in any area, thanks in part to adjusting the tilt tension and intentional use of the tilt lock.

The ability to lock this chair in a tilted-back position is a nice touch and we found it most useful when locking in a tilted-back position to play a game or watch YouTube reviews.

The wheels roll well and rotate 360 degrees allowing for maximum maneuverability even on some carpet and the frame feels solid, even after almost a month of daily use there is no squeaking or wear.

The backrest is suitable even for those who are a bit taller. Our tallest member out of this office is 6'1", and they were able to sit in this chair, adjust the seat height, and raise the headrest a little higher. This process generally takes less than a minute, and then they get to the point. Our The shortest member outside of this office is more like 5'10" or 5'11" and they can do the same too, making little to no adjustments between all the heights, but they can still refine whenever they want.

final verdict

For the low price, this chair is above its class. The characteristics of this chair are enough to adapt to any user, keeping the price low.

For long days or short sessions, we find ourselves choosing this chair more and more. Although there are absolutely more expensive and better chairs on the market, we are very happy with the Flexispot OC14 Pro ergonomic chair as a whole.
