Five What if…? The episodes of season two that we want to see next to Black Widow

five What if ...? The episodes of time two that we want to see next to Black Widow
And if...? Season 1 hasn't quite reached its halfway point on Disney Plus yet, but Marvel Studios is already hard at work on the second installment of the animated series. It looks like they are set up in a driveway centered around one particular superhero. Speaking to The Direct, what if...? Production designer Paul Lasaine has raised the possibility of a solo film adaptation of Black Widow for season two. Natasha Romanoff's freelance adventure would be an intriguing sight. What if she ends up leading the new generation of Red Room widows and succeeds in deposing the US government? Or if she became Taskmaster and her sister, Yelena Belova, had to defeat her instead? The possibilities are limitless. Regardless of how Marvel adapts Black Widow's story for What If...? season two, Lasaine's tease got us thinking: what other MCU stories do we want to see in next season's batch of episodes? Here are 5 Marvel productions we want to mold. Major spoilers for What if...? Season 1 continues, so leave this page if you're not aware.

avengers part 2

(Image credit: Disney/Marvel Studios) If you watched What If...? season 1, you will know that most of the Avengers died in a particular cosmos. Yes, Hank Pym killed Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye. After the death of his daughter Hope on a mission for SHIELD, he takes revenge on Nick Fury by killing the Avengers as Yellowjacket, the villain from the first Ant-Man film. In short, Loki ends up helping Fury defeat Pym before the Trickster God establishes himself as King of Earth. The episode ends when Fury finds Captain America entombed under ice (as in Captain America: The First Avengers) and calls on Captain Marvel to help him depose Loki. And if...? Consequently, season two could have a follow-up episode in which the 2 Caps lead a new roster of Avengers against Loki and his forces. Bring in the likes of Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and even Ant-Man himself, and that would be a solid alternative option to the Avengers to our knowledge.

Thor: Ragnarok

(Image credit: Marvel Studios) To our knowledge, this movie could go one of two ways. First, Thor was surprisingly able to kill the Hulk, who is the Great Professor Vanquisher, on Sakaar. The Great Professor could install Thor as his new victor in the Fight Pits, which could lead to the God of Thunder fighting other superheroes who end up on Sakaar. Who wouldn't want to see a battle between, let's say, Thor and Captain America? The second option is for Hela to defeat Thor's Avengers team in the final battle throughout Ragnarok. With absolutely no one to stop him from expanding the Asgard Empire, we got to see the villain from Prove Blanchett conquer each and every one of the 2 Realms, including Earth.

Captain Marvel

(Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney) For this entry, Carol Danvers may never find out she's from Earth. As a result, she could assist the Kree Empire in its universal expansion, which could lead to a showdown with the MCU characters on either planet. The first is an obvious choice: Earth. Here, the Avengers could unite to try to stop Captain Marvel. It would undoubtedly be an interesting battle, given its power. However, a less likely alternative would be Colossus. As Thanos' home planet, it would be awesome to see the Kree Empire attempt to conquer it, a move that would pit Captain Marvel against Thanos in an Endgame rematch. Either one of them could come out on top and win, and it would be a weird but fun experience to back Thanos (as a nice guy trying to save the world from him) for once.

Loki

(Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney) However, since Loki Season 1 introduced the Multiverse to the MCU, there are many ways a What If...? The episode could mold the God of Mischief series. What would happen if each and every version of Loki (as seen in Episode Five) banded together to defeat Alioth, escape One Who Remains at the End of Time's castle, and somehow return to TVA? They could depose those responsible but, in a hint of humor, the variations of Loki might disagree about which one of them should run the TVA. It would lead to a lot of jokes and arguments, and potentially a huge brawl between everyone through the climax of the episode. Who wouldn't want to see this?

Shang-Chi and the legendary story of the ten rings

Simu Liu prepares to fight in Marvel's Shang-Chi movie

(Image credit: Marvel Studios/Disney) Now, spoilers for Shang-Chi and the legendary story of the ten rings. Proceed at your own risk! Lastly, we thought Shang-Chi's standalone story would be an interesting What If...? season two entry. Marvel's first Asian superhero has just arrived in the MCU, so unless you've seen the movie before, turn around now or we could end up screwing up certain aspects. For you now. You were warned. Are you still with us? Great, this is what we'd like to see if a potential What If...? episode. What happens if Shang-Chi succeeds his father, Xu Wenwu, as head of the Ten Rings organization? It would be great to see what happens if Shang-Chi becomes a villain instead of a hero. He even could befriend his sister Xialing, who, in an alternate reality, could become the hero of the play. And if...? The recent episode of Doctor Strange showed us that Marvel doesn't hesitate to estimate what would happen when heroes turned villains. Shang-Chi is someone that we could consider bad instead of good, depending on his upbringing, so it is not an exaggeration to think that this could work.
