First Images of Jordan Peele's Nope Tease Mysterious Skyward Threat

Fans of Jordan Peele's new horror film Nope evidently didn't heed Adam McKay's Don't Look Up advice.

As part of a flash-and-you-ll-miss-it sneak peek for the upcoming title, which will be released on July XNUMX, XNUMX, actors Steven Yeun, Daniel Kaluuya, and Keke Palmer can be seen looking face to face. the sky in disbelief for…something.

Here's the sneak peek, featuring a few seconds of that sweet first-look sequence:

Fortunately, we don't have to wait too long to find out what the trio might be looking at. The full trailer for Peele's enigmatic new movie is coming on the last day of Super Bowl week (February XNUMX), so we look forward to hearing more about its premise. For now, fans can rest easy knowing that Yeun looks really good in a cowboy hat.

Prior to the teaser release, we were only offered a mysterious Stephen King-esque poster for Nope that featured a cloud hovering over a distant city.

Suffice to say, it wasn't much. .

Don't bet Nope is your average horror thriller experience. Peele's previous 2 feature films, XNUMX's Get Out and XNUMX's Us, combined familiar horror themes with scathing social commentary to stand out among his genre contemporaries.

The first earned the director an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and each and every subsequent project tied to his name has been met with both critical and commercial anticipation.

However, other confirmed details about Nope are scarce. We know that Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott will also star in the film, while Christopher Nolan's usual collaborator Hoyte van Hoytema will act as director of photography. We'll have more to share on the last day of Super Bowl week.

Analysis: a year full of horrors

Horror enthusiasts have considerably more scare stories to look forward to elsewhere in XNUMX.

Netflix's Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot (sorry, sequel) hits the airwaves on February XNUMXth, as franchises like the Evil Dead, Jeepers Creepers, Hellraiser and, of course, Halloween return in multiple moments throughout the age of next year.

Scream has already performed surprisingly well in XNUMX. It became the first film to unseat Spider-Man: No Way Home from the top spot at the box office in multiple markets, earning the franchise a sixth entry in the near future.

However, it is Peele's Nope that stands as the most anticipated arrival of the genre. While dozens of fans will undoubtedly line up to enjoy the return of the aforementioned legacy franchises, the mystery surrounding the director's latest project makes it one of the most anticipated new movies of XNUMX.

The release date of the film in the month of July rules out the XNUMX awards, but we are still eager to see the disturbing drama that the assembly between Peele and Kaluuya holds for us.
