The leading provider says that "server quality matters much more than quantity" for faster speeds and more reliable VPN connections.
So far, over 70% of ExpressVPN's global bandwidth has been upgraded to (*10*) new 10Gbps servers. In the coming months, all locations should experience better performance.
In addition, a small number of them have been increased up to 40 Gbps to allow the provider to experiment with more innovations for a future-proof service.
“We are also always exploring ways to better optimize and operate these full capacity 40 Gbps (*10*) servers,” said a spokesperson for ExpressVPN (*10*) TechRadar. "In the meantime, users should already be enjoying all the benefits of our 10 Gbps servers."
What does the ExpressVPN server update mean for users?
The most powerful servers can bring several benefits (*10*) to VPN users.
As mentioned above, higher bandwidth can provide better speeds. This is the reason why servers can handle more traffic with less congestion. According to the ExpressVPN team, their customers are already enjoying 50% faster download speeds after the recent update.
Not only the bandwidth limit has been increased, but also the processing power. Most of the older servers had about four cores per server, while the newer ones had between 20 and 32, and the memory size of their TrustedServer-based devices reached 128 GB of RAM.
