Etisalat launches 5G service and smartphone in the United Arab Emirates.

Etisalat, a United Arab Emirates-based telecom operator, is the first in the Middle East and North Africa to commercialize 5G and edge service in the United Arab Emirates. The operator has established links with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE to offer this service. Subscribers using the ZTE Axon 10 Pro, the first 5G device available from Etisalat, can now enjoy the lightning speed of 5G network up to 1 Gbps and reduced latency of approximately 1 millisecond. The 6.47-inch device is priced at AED 5.555 plus 5% value-added tax and will be delivered within three days. The 5G cellular network will allow subscribers to enjoy and exploit highly connected technologies that blend the physical and digital domains, from AR and VR to IoT and AI. Autonomous vehicles, 3D printing, wearable technologies and more. Approximately 20 times faster than 4G and with ultra-low latency, 5G service will enable users to stream live video in 4K resolution anywhere, anytime, and virtually anywhere without lag. Etisalat customers now have the opportunity to experience 5G and purchase the ZTE Axon 10 Pro at Abu Dhabi Marina Mall and Dubai Mall. In addition, customers can also opt for flexible Smart Pay plans with a 12, 18 or 24-month contract from only AED241. The 5G network will be available to all Etisalat postpaid, prepaid, consumer and business customers using a 5G device. All customers will be able to use existing data packages on the 5G network.
