Epic Games Store wins another major PC exclusive with Hitman 3

This is bad news for Steam fans, as Epic has gotten its hands on Hitman 3, another Epic Games Store exclusive. Hitman 3 developer IO Interactive has announced that the PC version of the game will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store for 12 months, which means it won't be available to download on Steam anytime soon. IO has also confirmed that the Hitman 3 feature that allows players to advance their progress and locations will be available on Epic's PC version. It's a huge win for Epic, and it comes just days after Total War Saga: Troy arrived on PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive. A few weeks before that, Epic also bagged PC exclusivity for a completely reliable delivery service.

To celebrate, the 2016 Hitman game will be available to download and will take place on the Epic digital store from August 27 to September 3. Hitman 3 will hit the PC store in January 2021, when the murder game is also expected to hit PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. In a statement, IO CEO Hakan Abrak explained that Epic Games' deal was welcome for a company new to desktop publishing. "Hitman 3 Self-Edition is a big step forward for IO Interactive in achieving our ambitious goals as an independent studio," he said. "In addition, this partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create the game exactly as we envisioned it, for our fans and our community without compromise." Along with Epic's announcement, IO also revealed another Hitman 3 location: Thornbridge Manor in Dartmoor, England. You can see for yourself in the trailer below.
