Could EA games return to Steam?

It looks like EA could bring its games to Steam, several years after Titan stopped selling its titles on Valve's online store, rather than selling them through its rival, the Origin game store.

Twitter user @RobotBrush discovered that a test application had been used to run Origin games on Steam, which could indicate that EA could allow users to buy and sell. To run your games through Steam, while the use of the Origin launcher is required, as in the case of running Ubisoft games. On Steam, you always need the Uplay game launcher to run titles.

While this may be an older show, this suggests that EA might be looking to allow games to return to Steam.

Additional evidence suggests that older EA games, which were once available on Steam, were later removed and the activity is re-enabled. For example, SteamDB, which monitors user behavior on Steam, shows that someone played on Saboteur, an EA game released in 2009. It is no longer available on Steam, but according to SteamDB, it was played on Steam between 20-21 October.

Dragon Age 2, another EA game that was once on Steam but was later removed, has also seen a recent wave of activity, receiving database and package updates.

EA has an extensive catalog of very popular games, including sports titles like FIFA, strategy games like The Sims 4, and role-playing games like Mass Effect. If these big names, as well as upcoming titles like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, were to return to Steam, this could be a real win for Valve.

EA would benefit as well, as more ways to buy games should mean more revenue - EA may have found that sales aren't as important to its Origin store as Valve's Steam store. .

It's only rumored for now, but we'll be watching Steam closely to see if more EA games will be available soon.
