Dying Light 2 made headlines after its developer, Techland, claimed that it would take over 500 hours to complete everything in its open-world zombie survival game. That's not enough for fans of the game clamoring for a New Game Plus mode. Good news for them, Techland is on board.
If you've made your way through Dying Light 2, befriended the city's factions, upgraded your gear, familiarized yourself with the parkour shortcuts that weave through the metropolis of Villedor, you may already be thinking things over. much better than you would if you had a new career in the field. A New Game Plus mode would reset Villedor to the state you found him in at the start of the story, but would allow you to keep all your powers and gear boosted.
Since its release in February, Techland has been fixing bugs in Dying Light 2, and a big patch is coming later this week on PC and console. On top of that, in response to a fan's question, the developer also confirms that they are "seriously considering" a New Game Plus mode.

This week, the patch that Techland is releasing fixes Dying Light 2's infamous death loop bug. Some players have found themselves stuck in an endless death loop where as soon as they load into a save game, they die without issue. If you run into the error and you haven't backed up your save, let's face it, how often do we usually do that? This can mean having to go back to a save you made hours ago, losing all the progress you've made.
Techland is also making fixes and improvements to ragdoll animations, the user interface, and more. from Dying Light 2. Hopefully this will also fix the bugs that were preventing Vic from playing, just when he was enjoying the game the most.
Techland says it plans to continue supporting Dying Light 2 with new DLC and expansions for another five years, which isn't an unnecessary boast when you look at the many releases of the original Dying Light. But while new places to explore are always welcome, there's a unique thrill that comes from roaming through a re-leveled game as a superhero.
And, since Dying Light 2 takes 500 hours to complete, a New Game Plus mode would give Techland some breathing room to work on those other DLCs.
