Death Stranding 2 Trailer Series Continues Tradition of Being Weird AF

Death Stranding 2 Trailer Series Continues Tradition of Being Weird AF (*two*)

Although Death Stranding 2 isn't a surprise, after all, back in May, actor Norman Reedus immediately declared that he would be appearing in a sequel. But now we have the official confirmation and the first trailer for the game, and more importantly, the trailer confirms that the sequel will continue the series' tradition of being downright weird.

I could also describe what happens in the Death Stranding 2 trailer, but you might want to see it for yourself. You can find it below, but in summary: men in red armor that look like insects break into a cave and Léa Seydoux flees from them on an electric unicycle. She is shot and she sees a baby crying black tears in her womb. A white-haired Norman Reedus then walks up some stairs and sees a flying ship emerge from a lake of ink.

If that didn't give you a good enough picture, I guess you could check out the trailer:

I've played Death Stranding, but I admit it's a bit blurry. Launching a campaign in 40 hours straight to prepare for an exam tends to push the information you learn out of your head as quickly as it came in. So in terms of how this trailer connects to the events of the previous game, aside from seeing the returning characters, nothing jumps out at you.

The story at the end of Death Stranding has come full circle, in terms of getting the full thread on Mads Mikkelsen's character, and his absence from the Death Stranding 2 trailer might suggest he won't be returning. So perhaps the focus will instead be on Sam rebuilding America, with him now having built a web of strands that stretches from coast to coast?

The only thing we can be sure of is that Hideo Kojima will deliver something rare.
