Sony details new accessibility settings for PS5 and DualSense controllers

Ahead of the PS5's November release date, Sony detailed some of the accessibility settings that will be integrated into the console and its DualSense controller at launch. In an official SIE blog post, Sony said that accessibility settings currently available on the PS4, including subtitles, color inversion, text-to-speech, and custom button mappings, will also be present. on PS5. The post also details some of the new options that will be available to PlayStation 5 users. These include a voice dictation feature that will allow you to enter text without a virtual keyboard; a screen reader so blind and visually impaired users can hear text on the screen; and text-to-speech options so deaf and hard-of-hearing users can send typed messages that will be spoken aloud to group members.

PS4 and higher

These features will be available in multiple languages ​​at launch, including English, Japanese, German, Italian, French, French, Canadian, Spanish, Spanish, and Latin American. Sony also said that the PS5 will support user-adjustable color correction, with the ability to create game presets so users can customize their settings beforehand for games that support it. Regarding the DualSense controller, Sony said it would be possible to reduce the strength of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers or turn them off entirely. In addition to this, improvements have also been made to the audio in order to "provide players with better spatial awareness". The PS5 and PS5 digital editions will launch on November 12 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.
