Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red released a special video from Night City Wire, showing the highly anticipated game running for the first time on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. The problem, however, is that the Xbox Series version X only runs the game through backwards compatibility and has not yet been updated to take advantage of next-gen features (coming later). The footage, which you can check out below, switches between the Xbox One X and Xbox Series X versions, and focuses on the game's protagonist, V, searching for a missing person by any means necessary. We see the game's stunning open-world design in all its glory, as V moves from one location to another in a cool-looking supercar. We then see V exploring a rather seedy establishment, with a satisfying glimpse of Cyberpunk 2077's first-person shooter mechanics in action. While it's hard to make out too many visual differences between the two versions of the game compared to a compressed YouTube video, the Xbox Series X could benefit from a higher overall resolution and more consistent frame rate when running the game through. backwards compatibility, especially if the Xbox One version offers dynamic resolution, which is more than likely. CD Projekt Red has promised that we'll see the game on PS4 soon, and possibly PS5 via backwards compatibility.
