Computex 2021 dates, keynotes and more: what do we want to see at the computer fair?
Computex 2021 officially takes place, after the annual Taipei IT conference was canceled in 2020 due to the global pandemic. But as long as the conference continues, it's not back to normal: it will be completely online. All keynotes will be online, instead of huge in-person presentations. And there are a lot of big computer manufacturers that are going to show off their latest stuff. Nvidia, AMD, and Intel all have great keynotes from Computex, and companies like Acer, Arm, and Gigabyte will be at the show. So ahead of the biggest IT event of the year, we wanted to sit down and think about what all these companies have in store for us, because it's bound to be a hectic show even though it's all live this year.

Come to the point

Computex 2021 date

Computex 2021 officially kicks off on May 31 and technically runs through the entire month of June. However, in terms of new releases, we'll probably hear about most of them in the first week. That's when the big speeches will be given, with Nvidia, Intel, and AMD all making their speeches on day one. We expect other manufacturers to announce new products in the first week, but the news is likely to dry up after that. Either way, we'll be sure to update this page with any important announcements throughout the month.

AMD at Computex 2021

AMD CEO Lisa Su delivers a keynote address at Computex 2021, which has definitely become a tradition. However, we don't really know what Team Red has in store for us at Computex, given that all of their major generational products have already been released. However, we may see the Radeon RX 6600 XT. We've seen a ton of rumors going around over the last month, and Computex would be the perfect place to debut the supposed traditional graphics card. We haven't heard about their mobile graphics solutions for the best gaming laptops yet, though they were suggested throughout CES 2021. Could we get AMD gaming laptops at Computex? Another possibility, and we have no reason to believe it will actually happen, is Threadripper 5000. It's been a while since we've seen Team Red's new high-end desktop processors (HEDTs). It's a long shot, but we'd like to see it.

Nvidia at Computex 2021

Nvidia headlines several keynotes during the first week of Computex 2021, but this is the first one you should pay attention to. Nvidia calls its keynote "The transformative power of accelerated computing, from gaming to the enterprise data center." So while the event will definitely be looking at data centers and artificial intelligence, gaming will be one of the focus of the event. We just don't know what it really means. We've seen a ton of buzz surrounding the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti, with release dates rumored to be the week after Computex's release. Therefore, it is possible that Team Green will give us another graphics card that no one will be able to buy. Beyond that, though, we're looking forward to hearing about the usual suspects like new G-Sync displays, ray tracing, and DLSS, and how these technologies are changing gaming forever. And, with E3 2021 taking place a few weeks after Computex, we may just get a hint of the top upcoming games that will take advantage of Nvidia RTX technology.

Intel at Computex 2021

Intel also has a major keynote on the first day of the event, but we're not holding our breath for anything particularly exciting. Team Blue has already released most of its major consumer products, with the 2th-gen Tiger Lake-H and Rocket Lake-S already on the loose. However, Intel may have some surprises in store for us. Like AMD, it's been a while since we've seen a HEDT release from Intel, so we could see a clue. We could also see Intel talking a bit more about its Xe graphics, as it's still not competitive with discrete graphics from AMD or Nvidia. We've heard rumors of a high-end Intel Xe DG2021, so we're looking forward to seeing it in action at Computex XNUMX.
