CES 2021: TCL's E Ink Color Tablet Unveiled Could Be Kindle Alternative
At CES 2021, TCL is stepping up the tablet games with two new devices, including an e-ink-like color display that bridges the gap between monochrome e-readers and expensive tablets. The TCL NXTPAPER is somewhat of a middle ground between traditional tablets and e-ink e-readers. The 8-inch ``paper-like'' Full HD display doesn't emit any blue light, perhaps making it easier on the eyes. Otherwise, the TCL NXTPAPER packs a 5MP front camera, 8MP rear camera, 5500mAh battery, and octa-core processor for users to watch videos and other media. It doesn't have a backlight, which gives it longer battery life, but forces users to rely on ambient lighting; to make up for this, TCL will include a light in the box.

Also part of the range is the TCL Tab 10S, a tablet based on the TCL 10 Tab Max (note the reverse nomenclature), inheriting the latter's 10,1-inch screen and 8000mAh battery, but adding a few new things. , as an included T-Pen. pin and pen connectors for third-party accessories. The TCL Tab 10S will be available worldwide in March 2021 with starting prices of €199 (around €245 / €180 / AU$314) for the Wi-Fi-only version and €249 (around €306 / €225 / AU€393) for 4G. LTE version. And finally, TCL has announced that it is developing a 5G tablet, which is not ready for market yet but is coming at a later date. Wave, yes, but we expect to see it on sale before the end of the year, otherwise another device will overtake it as the first 5G tablet on the market.

TCL at CES 2021: more, more, more

TCL is introducing even more products at CES 2021 ~ more TVs, of course, but also more mobile phones and other devices. The TCL 20 5G, a 5G phone at a mid-range cost, and the highly affordable TCL 20 SE are unveiled at CES as the first of the brand's 2021 lineup. Three more phones will be unveiled in the coming weeks. TCL is also introducing the TCL Move PetTracker, a GPS tracker that can be attached to anything to keep an eye on, though it's meant for roaming furry friends. TCL is also teasing two products that are still in development. The first is a rollable phone, with a screen that folds out into a larger format, with a screen almost the size of a tablet using a less intimidating mechanism than foldables, TCL believes. The second is Project Archer, a VR headset that deliberately keeps your peripheral vision open to prevent motion sickness and is designed to be less bulky than all-encompassing VR headsets and will therefore be just enough thin for traveling on public transport. Neither device is ready for the market, and TCL has no launch dates or pricing for either.
