CD Projekt RED has not one, but three Cyberpunk games en route

Cyberpunk 2077 is already looking to become one of the biggest video games of the decade. With a gigantic metropolis to explore and dynamic gameplay systems most of us can only dream of deciphering, the next Witcher franchise could be game-breaking for all games, and it looks like we're getting three. Polish website Bankier.pl, which features the business and finance sectors, reported on a statement by CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński on July 1, confirming that there were currently three separate cyberpunk projects in development (via IGN ). The first of these is, naturally, Cyberpunk 2077, a single-player AAA game based on the popular board game, released in April 2020. A side team is apparently working on a multiplayer mode, though the mode is included in the main offer, or it can be purchased separately, remains to be confirmed. We've already seen Bethesda make some egregious mistakes in their standalone version of Fallout 76, which was initially considered a multiplayer mode for Fallout 4, and it wasn't comprehensive enough to win outright prize money. We hope that Cyberpunk Online, Hackerz, or whatever the name of the multiplayer component, will be integrated into the main title. But VP Piotr Nielubowicz also confirmed that another AAA game is in the works, which looks like a continuation of the main game: "Our next big project will also be in the cyberpunk universe, and we are already working on it and treating it as a big innovative project for us. ". Given the hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt RED's apparent confidence in the franchise, we're not entirely surprised, though how they plan to get bigger and better remains to be seen. It looks like we'll have our next big reveal about the main game's content and systems in early 2020, Kiciński stating that "a heavy dose should be expected early next year, when the preview will appear." With the arrival of an additional board game, it's clear that CD Projekt RED plans to expand the franchise as much as possible.
