Pastel reveals new Call of Duty: Warzone map

The next map coming to Call of Duty: Warzone has been revealed in a strangely appetizing way.

Fortune's Keep is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone as part of the upcoming Battle Royale Season 4. Activision shared the island's tactical map in a tweet (opens in a new tab), giving us an idea of what's to come.

Smaller than Caldera but larger than Rebirth Island, it will be playable in Warzone's Resurgence game mode, so expect to fight in smaller lobbies and faster matches. A cave, a bay, a cemetery and a lighthouse are present on the island, as well as a dungeon that appears to be a large manor house. There's also a building perched on top of a mountain called the Overlook, which Stephen King fans might expect to be a hotel.

The map is much greener than Renaissance Island, and fits better with the tropical environment of Caldera. It also seems to feature more open spaces, especially on the right hand side of the island, although there are plenty of tight corners and dense collections of buildings scattered throughout.

Activision hasn't confirmed when Warzone Season 4 will release, but the update can't be too far away if we already have our eyes on that new map. Battle royale sequel Warzone 2 will also launch later this year shortly after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Warzone will remain live when the sequel is in place, but player progress will not be shared between players. games.

Thank you to our community for helping to reveal Fortune's Keep, a new #Warzone Resurgence map, where the amount of danger and action is surpassed only by its wealth.

cake delivery

Fortune's Keep had a more edible reveal than most Warzone updates. The map pieces were released gradually throughout Monday, June 13, as streamers and content creators were given individual sections of a 12-part puzzle to slowly put together.

Strangely, some creators received entire cakes that had a section of the new card printed on their frosting. YouTuber JGOD shared a video (opens in a new tab) of the cake they received, as did streamer BearPig (opens in a new tab), showing off some beautiful and delicious green trim.

The final pieces of the puzzle were tweeted directly from the Call of Duty and Raven Software Twitter accounts, before coming together in the final reveal. The free pies aren't a half-bad marketing gimmick, though we're a little bummed that Fortune's Keep doesn't even house a bakery.

Activision has shown its penchant for weird reveals lately. Last month, he revealed the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by painting a mural of Ghost on the deck of a container ship.
