Jango was killed by Mace Windu on Geonosis, during the battle that started the Clone Wars.

The Mandalorian: Temporada 2

The real Mandalorian in season 2 of The Mandalorian. (Image credit: Disney) Boba Fett is a man of few words, so it's mostly about the costume. Fett's animated debut in 1978's Star Wars Holiday Special is one of the few interesting moments on a TV show that George Lucas has more or less disowned, and he's become one of the most iconic additions to film. Star Wars universe in The Empire Strikes. Return. Although he only speaks four lines of dialogue in the film, his enigmatic style, his ruthless approach to getting the job done, and his impossibly stylish armor made him an instant hit with the Star Wars fanbase. He was a must-have minifigure, even without the rocket-firing capability of a never-before-seen prototype that has since sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction. His ship, Slave I (also featured in ``Chapter 14: The Tragedy'' and apparently heard briefly in Season 2, Episode 1), was also extremely iconic.

What happened to Boba Fett in the movies?

The Empire Strikes Back may have established Boba Fett as one of the coolest characters in this galaxy far, far away, but his fate in Return of the Jedi hasn't lived up to the hype. With Jabba the Hutt ordering the execution of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca in the Great Pit of Carkoon (home of the Sarlaccs), Skywalker hatched a daring escape plan. Fett flew from Jabba's sailing barge and attempted to use his armor's built-in gear box to stop the would-be Jedi. However, he was arrested in the most unlikely way when Solo accidentally struck his thruster, causing it to misfire which knocked Fett into the pit, effectively dooming him to 1.000 years of pain and suffering, being slowly digested in the pit. Sarlacc belly. That a feared warrior could get away so cheaply never came to pass.

Why do we think he's back in The Mandalorian?

As it turns out, we've seen (and heard) Boba Fett before in The Mandalorian Season 5 Episode 1, 'The Gunslinger.' The characteristic sound of spurs (and a few familiar beeps) has led many to assume that the shadowy figure who found Fennec Shand's body was Fett himself. This turned out to be correct when we encountered a partially cybernetic Shand, now in the service of Boba Fett, in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian. There was something incredibly familiar about the Cobb Vanth, Marshal of Mos Pelgo armor he sported in The Mandalorian season 2 premiere. While he didn't wear the outfit as well as the original owner of it, the bib is a bit like an ill-fitting tank top, he was unmistakable as the old Boba Fett costume, but with a bit of wear and tear. additional. We later found out that Vanth had bought it from a group of Jawas. We don't know how they came into possession of it, but it's safe to assume they recovered it from the Tatooine desert. And, since it's unlikely they attacked the Sarlacc's stomach, it's reasonable to assume that Fett somehow escaped the beast's digestive tract. This assumption was confirmed by the final shot of the season 2 premiere, where we saw a familiar-looking man in a dark robe. The man is played by Temuera Morrison, who played both Jango Fett and the Clone Troopers in the prequel movies, while also voicing Boba Fett in the more recent reissues of the original trilogy. In Chapter 14, we find out that this figure was in fact real: Boba Fett returned to collect his Din Djarin armor and identified himself as Jango's son.

How did Boba Fett survive the Sarlacc?

That is the million dollar question. While fans have long speculated that the Sarlacc wouldn't be enough to hold Fett down indefinitely, The Mandalorian provides the first in-canon confirmation that he survived. Still, this isn't the first time Boba Fett has gotten away with murder, as she lived to fight another day in both the Dark Horse comic book line and the Old Universe novels. Expanded: Now relegated to the non-canonical Legends line. Early '90s Dark Empire comics by Tom Veitch and Cam Kennedy revealed that Fett was alive, as he told Han Solo: “The Sarlacc found me somewhat indigestible. Meanwhile, JD Montgomery's 1996 short story "A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett," from Tales from Jabba's Palace, went a step further. There, an immobilized Fett establishes telepathic contact with the first of Sarlacc's victims, Susejo, who is able to exert some influence over her captor. The wounded Fett then forces the Sarlacc to contract his stomach so that he can use his jetpack and concussion grenades to blast a hole inside and escape. Fett was later discovered by Jawas, who mistook him for a droid. Whether this story is part of it in The Mandalorian remains to be seen, though Disney-era Lucasfilm has a habit of ripping plum moments from the old Expanded Universe and reinventing them.

Is Boba Fett a nice guy now?

Here's what's weird about Boba Fett's appearance in ``Chapter 14: The Tragedy'': The former bounty hunter was happy to fight the Empire and vowed to help Mando get Grogu back. (you know, The Child) from Moff Gideon and the Empire. With the Razor Crest destroyed as well, Mando really needs some help. But does that mean he's a nice guy now? As we learned in The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett used to disintegrate her targets; it is possible that she has changed his ways since he was eaten by the Sarlacc.
