Best Chrome extensions 2019: do more with your browser

Chrome is a great browser, fast, well designed, and packed with essential features, but that's just the beginning. Chrome's true strength lies in its huge library of plugins that gives you endless new features and capabilities.

In fact, the Chrome Web Store contains so many extensions that it's hard to know what will really change your daily browsing.

That is why we have compiled this list of the top 10 Chrome extensions available. These are the ones that we have installed in our own browsers. Give them a try and transform your online experience.

Keep your passwords in one place and log into your accounts automatically

It's no secret that using strong passwords is an essential part of online security, but something like gLR6 @ z! KklEc is so hard to remember that it is tempting to use 123456 everywhere.

LastPass solves the problem by creating a very different password for each site, storing it locally in an encrypted vault, and automatically filling in web forms and connections as needed. You just have to remember a single master password and LastPass takes care of almost everything else.

Unlike some password managers, you don't need to add all your usernames and passwords to a database before you can use it (unless you want to). Just install the extension and every time you log into an online account, you will be asked if you want to make a backup. It is wonderfully practical.

Evernote Web Clipper

Cut web pages, texts or bookmarks and read them later.

If you are looking for a project or if you just get distracted by interesting articles while trying to work, Evernote Web Clipper is great.

When you find something you want to read, click the elephant icon and Evernote lets you save the entire article, a simplified version (no image or formatting), a full page, a screenshot, or just a bookmark.

You can choose the notebook to cut into and add labels and notes if you wish, although this is optional. If you are in a hurry, you can cut something in two clicks. By default, Evernote Web Clipper selects the last setting used when recording a new clip.

Evernote Web Clipper also integrates into the context menu, allowing you to clip a page, screenshot, or bookmark by right-clicking on a page. Customizable keyboard shortcuts are also available.

When you have a little time, log into your account at Evernote.com or use the web app. Everything you clip will be there, ready to be read.

Not in Evernote? Pocket is a great alternative and suggests additional content

Save to Pocket (formerly known as Read it Later) works much like Evernote Web Clipper, allowing you to save interesting songs during your daily browsing.

Save to Pocket allows you to save web pages, links, images, files, etc. in a central list, and then automatically syncs the results to all your devices.

This is an excellent web search system. Whether you add pages or links to your phone, tablet, or desktop, they are immediately available to explore others.

When you save something to Pocket, the extension suggests other content that you might like. If that wasn't enough, US users can also view Pocket trending topics using the Pocket New Tab extension.

Fox Clocks

Get a fully customizable world clock on your browser's status bar

FoxClocks is a simple idea, brilliantly executed. It informs you of the time when different countries are located at the bottom of your browser, which saves you from searching for the same information on Google. That's all

FoxClocks takes daylight savings time into account to make sure you don't miss a meeting or a significant hour-long window, and you can see the time in whatever format you choose.

Choose a time zone or search for a city to add to Chrome's status bar. If this seems too cluttered, the locations can also be accessed by clicking the button next to your browser's address bar.

Suspend unused tabs to free up RAM and improve performance

Chrome is a notorious memory, and with multiple tabs open, it can even shut down the most generously equipped PCs. The Great Suspender alleviates the problem by suspending tabs that you don't currently use.

It's smart too: you can whitelist certain domains and URLs that you prefer not to suspend (such as your email provider) and avoid tabs that are currently reading suspended media or displaying forms so you don't lose the information you've lost. inserted.

If you don't want to abandon Chrome but are tired of its RAM recovery methods, this extension could be a game changer.

Wrangler tab

Automatically close inactive tabs after a certain period of time.

If you are one of those who find themselves with dozens or even hundreds of tabs open while browsing, Tab Wrangler deserves your full attention. Going a step beyond The Great Suspender, it works by closing tabs that you haven't used in a while. If this sounds alarming, don't worry - all closed tabs are kept in the Tab Wrangler pen (good cowboy metaphors) so you can reopen them with one click. All the tabs you really need to stay open can be pinned to stay in place.

Tab Wrangler is great for tab addicts, but keep in mind that it doesn't record the status of a page. So if you are working on something in a web application or form, it will be lost when you close the tab. .

Full screen capture

Enter a complete web page with one click and download it in JPG format

Firefox Quantum includes a built-in full screen screenshot tool, and full screen screenshot can add the same to Chrome.

The extension does not require any special permission: just install it, then click on your browser icon or press Alt + Shift + P to create a full screen screenshot.

The page will scroll as it is captured and it is recommended not to move the mouse over it until the end. Once this is done, the resulting image will open in a new window, ready to be downloaded. This is a particularly useful tool for saving web pages that you want to read offline.

In the unlikely event that the page is too large to capture at the same time, the full page snapshot will warn you and break it down into manageable chunks.

Send and receive messages and receive call notifications in your browser

Is the smartphone on your desk distracting you? Pushbullet puts all of its chat services in your browser, including WhatsApp, Kik, Facebook Messenger, and even SMS messages.

You will receive notifications when you receive messages and calls (as long as you have an Android phone). If you delete them on your desktop, it will also delete them from your phone.

Anyway, if you're at your desk, why not make full use of your keyboard and mouse? Sending SMS from your computer is much easier than using a tedious touch screen, and sharing links is easy.

Adblock More

Block ads and tracking cookies to improve speed and privacy.

It would be remiss of us not to mention Adblock Plus, the most famous ad blocker for Chrome. Installation is quick and easy, and the benefits are immediately obvious. Just point your browser to an ad-heavy site, the Adblock Plus icon shows the total number of all ads that are blocked, and you will see that most pages are displayed much faster.

The other major asset of Adblock Plus is its extreme configurability. If you want to simply prevent the extension from running on a particular site, perhaps to avoid causing problems, or if you want to use a new set of ad blocking rules, the Options dialog contains tools.

All we will say is that most websites depend on advertising, so you might consider disabling ad blockers on friendly sites like LaComparacion.
