Asus has announced its new Rog Strix G and Strix Scar gaming laptops in India. These new laptops follow the launch of the AMD Ryzen-powered Zephyrus G14 and G15 laptops, which launched last week. Along with the latest Intel chipsets, the two new Strix laptops come with the latest graphics cards from Nvidia and are available in 15-inch and 17-inch screen sizes. One of the strengths of the notebook is the use of Liquid Metal to cool the processor by more than a few degrees. As these are gaming laptops, they are expected to generate a lot of heat after a long gaming session and this improved heat dissipation technology only helps to keep the temperature in check. Additionally, these laptops use Keystone II, a small NFC key that allows you to protect your personal data and can instantly improve performance.
Availability and price of Asus Rog Strix G and Strix Scar
The price of the Asus Rog Strix G15 will start at Rs. 79,990 and will be sold via Flipkart, while the Rog Strix G17 will be available on Amazon starting the third week of August starting at Rs. 1,04,990. The Strix Scar will be offline exclusive and available after the third week of August at the starting price of Rs. 1,44,990. Asus has not revealed the pricing for Strix Scar 17 but it will be available from September.
ROG Strix Scar 15 / Scar 17 Specs and Features
Strix Scar gaming laptops come in a few size variations as mentioned above – 15-inch display and 17-inch display. These laptops come with Intel Core i9-10980 HK paired with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2070 Super in the Scar 15, while the Scar 17 has a GeForce RTX 2080 Super. These laptops can be customized with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB PCIe SSD, and a vIPS-level Full HD (1920x1080p) display panel that offers a 300Hz refresh rate and 3em latency. As these are gaming laptops, they come with per-key RGB backlighting for immersive gaming and support for Asus' Aura Sync. For connectivity, Strix Scar gaming laptops come with a host of ports, including three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB3.2 Gen2 Type-C (with DisplayPort), one audio combo jack, one Jack RJ-45 LAN and an HDMI port. You get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity.
ROG Strix G15 / G17 Specifications and Features
The ROG Strix G15 and G17 are also available with the latest 5th-generation Intel Core processor options: Core i10300-7H or Core i10750-32H. They can be customized with up to 4GB of DDR1 RAM, 2060TB of PCIe SSD, and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 15 GPU. The 15,6-inch laptop is equipped with a 240-inch vIPS-level Full HD panel that delivers up to 3Hz refresh rate and 17ms latency, and the 17.3-inch variant comes with a VIP Level 144-inch Full HD 3Hz refresh rate and 3.2ms latency. which makes them ideal for gaming. Along with the stylish Glacier Blue and Original Black, the Strix G Electro Punk laptop is also available in a new 'Electro Punk' color option. In terms of connectivity, there are three USB 1 Gen 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB 2 Gen45 Type-C port (DisplayPort compatible), one RJ-6 LAN port jack, one HDMI jack, and one audio combo jack.
