UK-based Appogee HR has been around since 2009 and focuses on SaaS applications running on the Google Cloud platform. Packages and prices

Appogee HR offers a variety of levels of software plans. The prices are based on the number of employees who will be laid off, and we note that the prices are transparent enough for up to 50 employees to facilitate comparison.

The cheapest plan is called Leave, which controls the management of absences and has a cost of € 1.60 per user each month. The features are numerous and cover absence management, illness tracking, an employee directory, and customizable leave types. Even at this affordable price, it integrates with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Xero, and also supports the information listed below.

The next level is the HR Essentials plan at € 4.00 per user per month that has the free time features as well as Core HR. Key features include company document management, staff location tracking, employee profiles and records, and time and attendance tracking. This plan also has the same support, as do the integrations.

Going up one level takes us to the HR Success Plan, which has the function of leaving, along with basic HR, and adding advanced HR. The price goes up to € 8,00 per user per month, with additional features of an onboarding portal, advanced customer performance and success management, and integration with LinkedIn Talent Hub.

Finally, there is the Time Plan, which costs € 6.40 per user per month, and is project tracking software. It can be purchased as a standalone offering or added to one of the lower tiers. It has an extensive feature set that includes real data and project analysis, employee project roles and rates, online timesheets, and staff location tracking for a work environment. We want the online timesheets and the check-in and check-out feature, only available in this time plan, to be included at the lower levels or available as a separate feature.

Features

Appogee HR has a number of cool features and it starts with optimizing the onboarding process for new hires. The goal is to hire the new hire, at the time of hire, and then not just until the first day on the job, but beyond the first few months of employment, a critical time when retention is extremely important according to Appogee. This includes meeting new team members, receiving welcome notices, and authorizing notification of a possible absence. Welcome messages can be modeled or customized for each employee.

The challenges of a hybrid work environment have been a problem for many companies as jobs evolve into this situation. Appogee HR can handle this on several levels. For example, you can configure and track for staff to be in the office or working from home, all visible to a manager from a clear dashboard. There is also location tracking, which can record staff when they are working remotely and also see when staff are available to video chat.

Gone are the days of filing employee files. Instead, Appogee HR replaces this with a centralized employee registration portal. Staff can even use the self-service portal to update demographic information, such as an address, phone number, or emergency contact person.

Support

Appogee HR support is more of the self-service type than the direct type, as we could not find a direct phone number. Also, we couldn't find a direct email, chat box, or fax. The only direct support option we have located is a support portal.

This does not mean that help is not available, but it does require a little more effort. For each of the offerings there is a comprehensive knowledge base, with topics covering "What is the Allocation Calculator and how does it work?" ”And“ Holiday Management ”as examples of subjects in the Appogee Licensing section. There is also a FAQ section, which has not only text, but also videos. Videos include "Can I create part-time employees?" And also quick content in the 60 second series, like "How to apply."

We were asked to review "Suggest a new feature and vote on others' suggestions" which promised to be an interactive way to improve the software. However, our hopes were quickly dashed when we clicked on the link and it took us to "The page you were looking for doesn't exist".

Final verdict

Appogee HR offers a complete HR software solution, with a number of strong features. We like the choice of tiers with transparent pricing, free trial, and features like time and attendance, as well as onboarding. Some areas for improvement to be aware of are missing direct support issues and the fact that some features, such as online timesheets, require an additional plan that increases the cost.
