Apple TV Plus Puts Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds in a Holiday Musical

If you think it's too early to write Christmas articles, we get it, but if you're interested in the latest Apple TV Plus shows announced for the incoming streaming service, you'll be greeted by a festive feast.

Apple TV Plus has announced a Christmas special starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Detective Pikachu) and comedian Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Zoolander).

The show will be a musical interpretation of A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens' classic narrative of an old tightwad and penny (presumably Ferrell) who was visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve and decided to change his ways.

Over the years, the adaptations of the story have been innumerable. Jim Carrey, Michael Caine (with The Muppets), and Patrick Stewart took on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Ryan Reynolds will undoubtedly be a big draw, and given the meta-fictional nature of his famous Deadpool persona, we're hoping to see the red-clad mutant make an appearance, though the rivalry between Apple TV Plus and Con's streaming service Soon to be released on Disney Plus, it wouldn't be surprising if Disney refuses to lend his character to Apple.

It's tv season

A Christmas Carol will join a slate of Apple TV Plus shows, including series by Jason Mamoa See, Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show, and even a revisionist biopic of XNUMXth-century poet Emily Dickinson.

Apple TV Plus is clearly trying to attract big-name stars, and historical personalities, to improve the visibility of its programming. However, one can't help but think its exposure is a bit meager, lacking the volume needed to cater to a wide range of tastes in the same way as Netflix, and we'll be curious to see how much it is. The offer feels unified. launch.
