Another New Switch Won't Launch This Year, Nintendo Says
The Nintendo Switch Lite has recently been announced, and there are rumors that another new Nintendo Switch could be on the cusp. But according to Nintendo, we won't be seeing the new console this year. At a press conference for the Switch Lite announcement, Nintendo president Doug Bowser revealed that we wouldn't see any new Switch models in 2019, according to CNET. "(The Nintendo Switch Lite will) be the only new Nintendo Switch hardware at this point, because Bowser said the larger switches still wouldn't benefit from an update," CNET writes.

Is there a Nintendo Switch Pro on the way?

This would echo the Wall Street Journal report earlier this year that two new Nintendo Switch consoles are coming: a budget, a handheld version, and a "premium" console. If the report is to be believed, and we've already seen the first consoles announced, we could see a version of the console with "enhanced features for gaming enthusiasts." Regardless of the name of the new upgraded switch, it looks like we won't see it until 2020.
