Yang's plunge down the crypto rabbit hole isn't exactly surprising. It's hard enough to ignore the parallels between supporters of the Yang cult (known as the "Yang Gang") and the similarly enthusiastic crypto-coalition. In other words, the two appealed to a predominantly young, white, male, meme-loving techie genre who fantasizes about disrupting legacy institutions: for the former, it's Washington politics, and for the latter, these are Wall Street banks.(*3*)
