Amzchef ZM5003 Smoothie Blender Review

Amzchef ZM5003: 1 minute review

The Amzchef ZM5003 blender is priced where you won't find many options that can keep up with the best blenders. When it comes to blenders, even now you have to spend more to get more, even though we're seeing a growing number of amazing kitchen appliances that are surprisingly very affordable.

It may have a lot to do with the fact that when it comes to mixing, the quality of the parts greatly affects the overall performance of a mixer. As such, it's harder to get the best value by going for something cheap.

The Amzchef ZM5003 may be trying to change that. With its XNUMXW motor (XNUMXW on UK model), this blender has enough power to handle your every day blending, shaking and grinding needs. It is also lightweight, which makes it much easier to handle. And it offers a little more value by adding a few extras to the package.

However, that doesn't completely fix the main problem with many affordable blenders. The blades here, while capable, will still fight where more rugged blenders won't. So while the Amzchef ZM5003 is a great option for budget-conscious people in need of a new mixer, it's not enough to persuade us to retire our current model.

Amzchef ZM5003 Cost and availability

The Amzchef ZM5003 blender is an accessible model for reduced budgets. At $XNUMX/$XNUMX, it's about $XNUMX/$XNUMX cheaper than Breville the Fresh & Furious, our top pick for the best blenders. The cost of the Amzchef includes a twenty oz (six hundred ml) travel bottle with its foil cap and travel cap, like a tamper.

This particular model is not available in the UK. Instead, you get the Amzchef NY-8088MJD blender, which has a slightly different control panel and doesn't come with an included travel container; As for the rest, it's exactly the same. It can be purchased on Amazon for €XNUMX / €XNUMX (opens in a new tab). Unfortunately, this mixer is not available in Australia.

According to the Amzchef site, customers of Amazon's service in the US get XNUMX-hour technical support and premium service.

Amzchef ZM5003 design

The Amzchef ZM5003 takes up space, but at around seven inches (XNUMXmm) tall, seven inches (XNUMXmm) wide and nine inches (XNUMXmm) deep, we wouldn't call it huge either. The black-on-gray base is partly lightweight, at least compared to our blender, making it easy to store and remove if you store it in a wardrobe.

The tritan pitcher, which has a XNUMX oz (XNUMX ml) capacity, is also lightweight. That may say something about its construction, but being BPA-free, it's clearly non-toxic. We like that it comes with a deep, wide spout, as this makes pouring out easy. And while its rubber lid with removable plug for adding ingredients doesn't lock into place, it does, which is essential.

Back to the base, which has a control panel with an LED display that shows the time and 9 buttons. 4 of them are preset (shakes, crushed ice, puree, blend), 3 are speed (low, medium, high) and one is start/stop. There's also a pulse button, but this needs to be held down in order for it to work for two minutes by default. Release it and it will stop.

Unlike other blenders whose pitchers and cups twist and lock into place, the Amzchef only has a centering pad whose job is to make sure its pitcher or travel bottle is properly connected to the base. Puesto que no existent nada que evide que la jarra y la botella de viaje salgan de su sitio, posiblemente interrupta el proceso de licuefactado if accidentariamente golpea cualquiera de .

Unfortunately, in the case of the twenty oz (six hundred ml) light travel bottle, this happened frequently and would often jump as soon as the engine started running. Amzchef even states in his manual that he will have to hold the bottle in place with his hand when using the blender. It is good that the engine has an automatic stop function, which runs efficiently.

The lack of suction cup feet is also disappointing. The Amzchef ZM5003 has rubber feet, and while these do a good job of keeping it from shifting on your counter, the absorbing feet would also have made it more stable and minimized vibration.

Amzchef ZM5003 Performance

The Amzchef ZM5003 blender is surprisingly powerful, despite its low cost. Its eighteen hundred W motor is undoubtedly very powerful. However, if you don't already know, power is not the only thing that determines the performance of a blender. Other factors like construction and parts also have an impact.

We have our mighty Ninja blender which, despite its low twelve hundred watts, simply shreds anything we throw at it, including frozen fruit and ice cream. So naturally we expected a lot from the Amzchef ZM5003 and its more powerful engine.

Unfortunately, it took about twenty seconds to crush 6 ice cubes, and even then there were still some small pieces of ice left. Testing the blender a bit more, we also made one of my frequent smoothies, consisting of a cup of frozen strawberries, a cup of frozen blueberries, a frozen banana, and a cup of oat milk.

The Amzchef ZM5003 took considerably longer than our blender to pulverize the strawberries and banana. Our Ninja blender hardly needed any help, but the Amzchef blender would stop after two to 4 seconds because the blades on it couldn't handle the elements. We had to go in 7 times with a silicone spatula, in addition to pouring a little more oat milk, to assist. It was frustrating.

The blender's two-minute shake preset is really enough to make such a drink. If only we didn't have to keep intercepting it.

However, making a smoothie with fewer frozen ingredients turned out to be simpler. When I tried the same recipe with a fresh banana instead of a frozen banana, the blender still needed some help, just not as much. Just be prepared for the noise; It's not the stealthiest blender we've tested.

The travel bottle, which comes with its blade cover, would have been perfect for smoothies, especially when you're short on time. However, it does not continue on your site. It appears every time we start the motor, which activates the automatic shutdown function of the mixer. When using this container, you will need to apply pressure to it with one hand to hold it in place.

Finally, housekeeping is listless. Although having a removable blade cover can be a pain, having a non-removable one is even more annoying. The blades on the Amzchef ZM5003 sit fairly close to the bottom, which is ideal for dipping small amounts of food.

However, this also means that bits of food get stuck between the small crevices, making them difficult to access due to the non-removable blade. A cleaning brush is included, and that does help get to those areas under and around the blade, but it also means that cleaning the tritan pitcher takes a little longer if you're doing it manually.

The blender has a one-click self-clean feature, so you might want to try it out first to see if it works. The pitcher is also dishwasher safe.
