AMD 'Ryzen Lite' processors debut in ultra-rugged and rugged Lenovo laptops

Lenovo introduced the second generation of the 100th laptop, the company's popular line of laptops aimed primarily at the education market. This aggressively priced kit is powered by two new AMD processors, announced at CES earlier this year. The AMD 3015e and AMD 3020e don't belong to any specific family (for example, Athlon, Ryzen or Sempron), but they do have the smallest (and probably cheapest) Zen parts. Considering the 6 W TDP, we don't expect much from these small Ryzen-style processors. They have two cores, two or four threads, and a base frequency of 1.2 GHz, boosted to 2.3 GHz or 2.6 GHz. They also have a Vega 3 GPU clocked at 0.6 GHz. The new 100e comes with 4 GB of DDR4 memory, 64GB eMMC, a 42Wh battery (which Lenovo claims can power the laptop for over 14 hours), Windows 10, Wi-Fi 6, and a display. 11,6 inches with anti-reflective coating and a disappointing HD + resolution. The device also features water resistance, a non-backlit keyboard with trackpad and mechanically anchored keys, MIL-STD-810G certification (covering 75cm drops), and a host of ports: two USB Type-A, one Type-C , HDMI, card reader and audio jack. The 100e also comes with AMD Memory Guard, which provides full memory encryption to help protect sensitive data if the device is lost or stolen. The laptop will go on sale for €219, while a second model with the more powerful 3020e and touchscreen capability will retail for €299. Pricing for non-US territories has yet to be confirmed.
