AMD continues to dominate with its Ryzen 5 3600, which equates to total processor sales

AMD's Ryzen success story continues, with just a XNUMXrd-gen Ryzen processor poised to sell as much as the Intel line of processors, according to the latest statistics from a European retailer.

As Reddit points out, Germany's Mindfactory said AMD's processors made 78% of sales in August, almost as much as in July, when the company managed to pocket 79%.

Naturally, this left Intel at 22% of units sold in August, and once again, AMD came close to balancing the sales of the entire Intel processor lineup with a single Ryzen product, except the chip that achieved this. feat was different.

Last month, AMD's best product was the Ryzen 7 3700X, but now it ranks second in terms of individual processor sales, with the Ryzen 5 3600 in first place. In fact, the latter has outsold all of Intel's ninth-generation offerings put together.

No deceleration

The popularity of the Ryzen 3000, therefore, does not seem to decline since the new Zen 2 processors were released, at least by this particular retailer, although we must keep in mind, as always, that it is only of a limited picture of the market of processors.

However, this reflects what we see more widely: namely, that Ryzen chips are increasingly being adopted by PC enthusiasts. However, when it comes to laptops and the business world, it's a different story with Intel at the top of the pack.

It should also be remembered that AMD has even more to come in the form of a Ryzen 9 3950X at the higher end, and a Ryzen 5 3500 that comes into play at the other end of the processor spectrum. Also, future extremely powerful Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors will be released before 2019.

We don't really need to add that Intel should obviously be concerned about the changing landscape of processors. So it's not surprising that Intel has been rather on the defensive lately, although the company may have some answers in the form of Comet Lake.
