The Ring Alarm Pro is Amazon's latest home security device, but in addition to Ring Alarm's home security features, this new device will have a built-in Wi-Fi 6 router with Internet backup capabilities. "We worked with eero to create a device that offers professionally monitored home security and digital security (with a subscription to Ring Protect Pro), so you can help protect your home online and offline. What you want from your Ring Alarm and more". the company said in an emailed statement to TechRadar. Ring Alarm was first introduced in 2018 to provide a professional home monitoring service to protect against burglary, fire, freezing temperatures, and even flooding. Requiring a $20 per month Ring Protect Pro subscription per covered location, this new device offers the same Wi-Fi 6 coverage as an eero home router, offering up to 1,500 square feet of coverage. The new device will have a permanent backup Internet connection via a mobile data connection in case your main Internet connection goes down, keeping your home security devices and equipment, such as cameras, connected to the Internet. Some devices will also have local processing and video storage via a MicroSD card with Ring Edge, and the 64GB card included with Ring Alarm Pro, which ships separately, should be enough for around 47 hours of video clips. The Ring Alarm Pro is now available to pre-order in the US for €249.
