Alexa headphones and a new Echo: what to expect from Amazon's launch event

Amazon is gearing up for a big launch on September 25, and rumors of new Echo devices surfaced in the run-up to the Seattle event.

Although Amazon hasn't revealed what we could expect to see during the launch, we know from experience that these annual events tend to be seen in one place or another. multitude of new Amazon Echo materials.

Last year's showcase saw upgrades to the Echo Dot and Echo Plus speakers, as well as gadgets as sophisticated as the Echo wall clock and even an Alexa-powered microwave.

Amazon's propensity to offer unusual Alexa-enabled devices means it's still hard to predict what its September showcase will reveal, but expect to see a few things on September 25.

A better quality Amazon Echo.

The Amazon Echo is a popular way to bring Alexa smarts into the home, but the little smart speaker lacks something in the audio department.

Even the Amazon Echo Plus, which bills itself as Amazon's premium audio system, still can't hold its own against the competition. So we're hoping the Echo will benefit from an audio makeover, making it just as sound-efficient as the leading audio. keeping an affordable price.

According to a CNBC report, citing a source "directly involved in the project," Amazon is about to launch a new Amazon Echo speaker, a larger device with improved sound quality.

The speaker would be "designed to be Alexa's main home market center speaker," suggesting it could usurp Amazon's first echo. With a "premium woofer and speaker" it should solve some of the audio problems faced by its predecessor.

Alexa True Wireless Earbuds

According to the same report, Amazon will launch a pair of fitness-focused true wireless earphones at the launch ceremony on September 25, putting the company in direct competition with Apple's AirPods for the first time.

Apparently, these heads will double as a fitness tracker, with a built-in accelerometer and the ability to monitor things like "running, calories burned, and race pace."

The new earbuds would cost less than € 100 (€ 80 / € 150), which would have the effect of significantly damaging Apple's AirPods (and most of the wireless competition).

They will also come with Alexa built in, giving access to the voice assistant on the go.

More Fire TVs

We'd like to see an extension of the Fire TV trend on a real TV that the company launched this year. The Fire TV interface is robust and feature-rich, but so far it's only been paired with mediocre TV screens; It would be exciting to see a premium package with Fire TV built in.

More recently we've seen the 4K HDR TV edition of the JVC Fire TV, which we think should be a budget TV, though it can be difficult to use the high resolution and HDR currently offered by Amazon.

It would be great to see something a bit more sophisticated for the Fire TV platform... maybe even an 8K model?

Most advanced Echo appliances

Amazon has pushed Alexa into products as diverse as watches, microwaves and cars, but it struggles to make a real impact in the home appliance sector, some of which lack the intelligence of its smart speakers.

The Amazon Echo wall clock, for example, just has the added feature of a timer (and smart countdown).

Perhaps a watch with more features, even a talking watch, powered by Alexa, would be a considerable improvement over what we currently have.
