Adobe: CIOs increase their investments in digital workflows

Digital workflows are seeing a marked increase in usage as businesses continue to embrace hybrid work arrangements post-pandemic.

According to a report from Adobe(opens in a new tab), in partnership with Microsoft and Forbes Insight, two-thirds of chief information officers (CIOs) planned to digitize their workplace and introduce desktop software beyond their current setup.

More than 600 senior executives were surveyed in the report, which also revealed that almost half thought their transitions to digital were unsuccessful, hence the desire of these executives to invest more in technologies such as online collaboration tools.

Digitize the workplace

The forward march of digitalization in the workplace means increased productivity, according to CIOs.

One respondent believed the increase was due to freeing up employee time by allowing digital processes to handle administrative tasks, allowing them to be more productive and creative in their core business.

Another benefit derived from the digitization of workflows is to increase the morale of the staff, increasing their commitment to their work as it becomes less difficult for them to organize.

In fact, according to CIOs, this would be one of the most likely outcomes of the digitization process, at 63%. The corollary is also a better customer experience, as employees are once again free to do vital work that impacts their customers.

The survey found that the biggest business outcome resulting from digitization was improved data and insight analytics, by nearly 40%.

A close second was improved revenue opportunities, with Adobe arguing that while initial ROI may not seem obvious with digitizing workflows, "the best digital processes can set your business up for future growth and success." ".
