Activision distributes beta codes for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War this weekend

This weekend, Activision is offering Call of Duty fans the chance to access the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War open beta, taking place ahead of the game's November 13 release date. As with previous Call of Duty titles, early access to the open beta can be secured by pre-ordering certain versions of the game. However, if pre-ordering isn't for you (or if you find the whole thing a lot more complicated than usual), Activision is giving out 10.000 beta codes during this weekend's Call of Duty League. The Call of Duty League takes place from Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, August 30, and there are chances to win prizes and rewards on both days. But, for those looking specifically for Black Ops Cold War beta codes, according to the official site, there will be "multiple drops" during the championship game on Sunday beginning at 4pm ET / 1pm PT / 9pm BST.

Inside to win it

To be in with a chance of winning, some conditions must be met. You must create or sign in to your Activision account on the official Call of Duty League website or associated app. After that, you link your Playstation, Xbox, or Battle.net account, and then sit back and watch the live stream with your fingers crossed. It is important to note that you must watch on the official Call of Duty League website or app, as the official rules state that those who watch on YouTube or MLG will not be eligible. Since the downloads are random, just logging in isn't a guarantee of receiving a code, but you'll have a better chance than those who don't watch anything. While a beta code isn't a guarantee, those who log in on Sunday for at least 30 minutes will unlock at least one exclusive CDL knife plan. At the moment, there isn't really an official start date for the Black Ops Cold War beta, but as the game hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, there probably won't be a long wait. Via The Verge
