Activision Blizzard bets on mobile gaming
Activision Blizzard is looking to make a breakthrough in the world of mobile gaming. According to a Gamasutra report, Daniel Algre, Activision Blizzard's COO and president, explained where the company wants to expand its reach to mobile platforms. This would allow the myriad of Activision Blizzard franchises to be available on "billions of mobile devices available today," Algre said. He continued: "This is by far our biggest opportunity and we are investing significantly to take advantage of it," to bring "all of our franchises to mobile over time."

We just passed the one year anniversary of the release of Call of Duty: Mobile, which was a huge success for the company; In fact, during a special in-game birthday celebration event, CoD: Mobile had one of its strongest weeks since launch. It was released in 2019 and the free game has been downloaded more than 300 million times worldwide, according to Activision President Robert Kostich. As mobile phones become more powerful, the possibility of translating console games also increases significantly. With the success of CoD: Mobile in mind, it's easy to see why the company would want to focus on the mobile gaming market, bringing even more titles to another platform.

Duty: Mobile. We believe that China can become a significant contributor to our overall franchise revenue. Kostich also said that the company will also be looking at Mexico and Brazil as they are "the top five markets for us in terms of installs and revenue." It was revealed in September, thanks to an Activision job listing, that Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale game, could be coming to mobile devices. That job listing (which now appears to be complete) indicated that the company wanted someone who could translate the console version of Warzone to mobile devices. This, combined with the Activision's acquisition of developer Candy Crush King in 2016 shows that a company is ready to get into mobile gaming.King is also creating the new Crash Bandicoot: On the Run which is a temple run type game set in the Crash Bandicoot world.
