The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S naming debate has been reignited yet again, this time by the colorful and often outspoken developer Josef Fares. Fares, who developed A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, expressed his bewilderment and contempt for the Xbox Series X name in an interview with IGN, stating that even Microsoft was confused. “It's a confusing name,” says Josef. "What's going on with Microsoft? They lose it, man. What's going on? Like S, X, Mex, Next series. I mean, who knows that? Come on." Craziness. Call it Microsoft Box and that's it. I don't know. It's a fucking mess. Trust me, even they are confused in their offices. What is X, S... I don't know, what the fuck. "When pre-orders for the Xbox Series X opened in September of last year, the aging Xbox One X experienced a surprising uptick in sales on Amazon, increasing by 747%. This has led people to believe that consumers bought accidentally an Xbox One X instead of an Xbox Series X, and that Microsoft's terribly similar naming policy is to blame. Fares has already made headlines due to his candid opinions and habit of dropping the F-bomb. At the 2017 Game Awards, Fares' appearance went viral by yelling "f**k the Oscars" before showing off his gameplay.
