A new Samsung smartwatch is in the works, but we don't know if it's the Galaxy Watch 2

A new leak has suggested that Samsung is developing a new smartwatch, but we don't currently have a clear idea on the name of the product when it's ready to wear on your wrist. According to GalaxyClub, a source who was correct in the past about Samsung leaks, the company has a product in development with the model number SM-R840. The original Samsung Galaxy Watch was called the SM-R800 before launch, so it could be a new device in this series of high-end connected watches. Again, last year we saw the release of the SM-R820, SM-R830, SM-R825 and SM-R835, but these were the Galaxy Watch Active 2 series products when they hit the stores. This makes the name of this new device unclear when it is officially launched; it could be the Galaxy Watch 39, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, or something else. The model number is also listed only in this leak, whereas in the past, Samsung has often introduced several variants of its smartwatches at the same time, with different sizes and LTE options. This may well be the case for the next Samsung smartwatch, and this leak is just part of the family. The only spec included in this leak is that it will apparently have a 3mAh battery. That's an average battery size for a smartwatch, and it's similar to the 330mAh cell that was inside the Galaxy Watch Active 340. There's no guarantee Samsung will hear about a new smartwatch anytime soon since it launched the Galaxy Watch Active 2. in September, but a leaked model number may be a clue that 2; a new product is about to be launched. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S39 series on February 11 at an event in San Francisco, so we may hear a new laptop alongside these new phones. Otherwise, Samsung could wait for Mobile World Congress in February to introduce a new device, or it could come later in the year. Via GadgetsAndWearables
