Don't lose your Eddie

Despite being released almost two years ago, the open-world RPG has become notorious for being riddled with bugs from day one. These ranged from game-breaking bugs to fun glitches, with the worst of the bunch being fixed in updates since its release in December 2020.

However, Cyberpunk still has a ways to go before it feels truly complete. From non-repeating mission-critical evidence to garage doors that won't open, many problems still persist today. Admittedly, some bugs and glitches are quite amusing.

Take, for example, this gem from a patch note: "Fixed an issue where putting a dead body in a container or chest, walking away, and then coming back could give a player an infinite amount of money." Therein lies the gold of video games.

Cyberpunk 1.61 patch 2077 contains many other fixes, including 20 quest bugs that prevented us from progressing through missions. You can read all about the fixes in the patch notes (opens in a new tab).

The notes also list several fixes for PC in particular, including irritating frame drops and game-crashing weapon upgrades that plagued the game and sabotaged the progress of many frustrated players.

New generation

Two years later, Cyberpunk is proving to its player base that it's worth it. This will be more complicated for those who do not have a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X | S; while next-gen players will have access to bug fixes, they will no longer receive new content and will have to be happy with the game as-is.

Why would next-gen gamers be left with a game that still feels broken after years of patches and fixes, especially with upcoming RPGs like Hogwarts Legacy promising a smooth, polished, and fully compatible experience? Next-gen console?

For these PC and next-gen users, the next big expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is the Phantom Liberty DLC, which is scheduled to release in early 2023. The developers at CD Projekt RED will have to compete for our attention, thanks to many more games. to come. so the DLC better offers something quite spectacular.
