Xiaomi's 108MP camera phone could be the cheapest yet

In July, popular Chinese phone maker Xiaomi was reported to be working on two phones. One with 108MP camera and 64MP camera. It was also revealed while Xiaomi devices were codenamed "Gauguin" and "Gauguin Pro". The popular digital chat station leaked on the Weibo platform, which broke the news at the time, now says that it may be Xiaomi's cheapest phone yet. According to the leak, a Xiaomi phone, with the model number M2007J17C, has been granted permission to access the network. It will likely be officially revealed in October. And it could be a member of the Redmi Note 10 series. Or even be in the stable of the Mi CC series.

The 108MP camera phones in the Xiaomi stable

Both devices are expected to feature a quad-camera setup on the back, which is standard for a 2020 smartphone. The "Gauguin" smartphone is likely to feature a 64MP quad-camera setup, while the "Gauguin Pro" is shipped. with 108MP setup with three other cameras. Digital Chat Station also claimed that the camera specifications may vary for the Chinese and Global variants. It should be packed on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC instead of MediaTek Dimesnity series. As of now, Xiaomi has four phones with a 108 MP main camera, namely Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi Note 10 Pro, and Mi Alpha. Among them, only the Mi 10 is available in India and it is the cheapest phone on the market with a 108MP camera. The rest of the specifications for the upcoming phones have yet to be revealed. But expect a deluge of information in the days to come.
