The Windows 10 Start menu could be updated with rounded corners used in the interface design, if a screenshot spotted online is anything to go by. As Windows Latest pointed out, the preview of the potential new look for the Start menu comes from a Microsoft tips page, which at one point talks about menu customization.

(Image credit: Microsoft) However, the screenshot showing the Start menu customization shows boxes with subtly rounded corners, instead of the sharp square edges currently seen in Windows 10. The search box below it also has rounded corners, and again, it's different from the current pattern of things. The theory, then, is that this screenshot was taken internally from some sort of built-in test, and it shows what's in the works for the Start menu, or at least what Microsoft might be thinking in terms. Modern flow
As always, there's no idea when this design change might be made, not even a guarantee that it will, of course, but the interface as pictured looks pretty slick, and indeed everything. it flows with the rest of the implemented changes. in Windows 10 to give it a more modern and contemporary feel. Of course, we've seen rounded corners appear in Windows 10 preview builds in the past, so the change makes sense in that context as well. Historically, Microsoft has used rounded edges in the past, but with Windows 8 and its ``Metro'' user interface, the company has gone for a straighter look and square angles to set the operating system apart from other platforms. Shapes As we've seen, there are other big changes planned for the Start menu, including live thumbnails whose backgrounds match the light or dark theme used in Windows 10, and the overall look is sharper. The smart money is in updating Windows 10 H1 2021 to make these changes happen, although anyone can assume that it could include rounded corners.
