The new Windows 10 Start menu comes to Twitter, with a controversial change
We know Microsoft is looking to rethink Windows 10's iconic Start menu, and now the company has given us our best look thanks to a video on Twitter. Posted by the Microsoft Design account, the short video shows how the Start menu, an integral part of the operating system since Windows 95, has evolved over the years. As you can see in the tweet below, the team has asked Twitter users what they think about the new design, and so far the feedback seems to be mostly positive. Microsoft, and Windows 10 in particular, hasn't had a ton of news recently, mostly due to ongoing issues with Windows 10 updates, so the company should be relieved that its updated Start menu appears to be a hit.

Let us know what you think in the comments below! pic.twitter.com/s4SVXncLEo April 6, 2020 The new Start menu certainly looks less crowded than the current version. The icons on the new Start menu now use Microsoft's new "Fluid Layout" look, and there's more space overall, making it less confusing if you have a lot of apps installed. It seems that Live Tiles, which are interactive icons that highlight information about the apps they represent, are still present on the new Start menu, despite persistent rumors that Microsoft plans to kill them off. However, one change that confuses some people is the removal of the text below the app icons. Although this leads to a cleaner look, it's up to you to know what the icons for the apps you're looking for look like, since they won't show the name anymore. This might be the most controversial change to the new Start menu, as it might make things more confusing for some people, especially after Microsoft changed the appearance of many icons. We don't know when the new Start menu will appear, and its appearance may change when it finally arrives. The next major update, the Windows 10 May 2020 Update, is imminent and won't be out anytime soon, so we may have to wait until the end of the year with Windows Update. 10 20H2.
