Last week, we learned what to expect from the Walmart Black Friday 2020 deals, as the retailer explained its strategy for handling this year's key sales window. In short, it's up to the retail giant to hire more "associates," tiered deals so people can shop sooner, and a safe in-store experience for those who want it. It will also include flexible delivery and pickup options for people looking to shop online, which is becoming increasingly popular in this pandemic-ravaged year. If you're into gaming and heading into this time looking for savings on a specific console or title, Walmart is worth considering. This is because it has cited video games as one of its key products during the upcoming holiday shopping season, no doubt a response to the popularity of consoles like the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and the Xbox One in a year when many people spend longer indoors. In a press release, the retailer said that "to ensure it delivers the expected gifts on wish lists this unique holiday season, Walmart has increased its inventory of electronics, with a focus on TVs, laptops and video games." We also know from our own Black Friday experience in years past that Walmart has some of the best bundle deals and software discounts when it comes to Christmas gift shopping. Some of these can be found at other retailers as well, but Walmart is another option if you see sales elsewhere. Here's what to expect from Walmart on the gaming side of things this year, based on 2019 trends.
Why Walmart's Console Packs Are Worth Looking For In 2020
Last year, Walmart offered several console bundles for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The highlight on the PS4 side was a €4 199TB PS1 slim bundle that included The Last of Us Remastered, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War. We've seen this package elsewhere as well, but it's unlikely anyone who picked it up would be unhappy. The highlight on the Xbox side was an Xbox One S All-Digital for $149.99 with several digital download games including Minecraft and Sea of Thieves, two great ways to waste dozens of hours. With 1TB of storage too, it was a good buy for the base Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch was less exciting, probably because the console is new enough that you don't get huge discounts for switching units, but we still saw the old Switch model (with slightly less battery life) shipped with Mario. Kart 8 Deluxe for €299. This year will probably be another story. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X launching in November, and the increasing demand for both of which we've seen massive sales at the pre-order stage, it's unlikely you'll see either. another of the consoles at a reduced price. However, assuming Walmart gets more stock for next-gen consoles at launch, bundles aren't out of the question. It's more likely that there will be steep discounts on the remaining PS4 and Xbox One units, though they've also been in high demand this year, so stock levels could be leaner than you'd see in a year without them. pandemic. We hope to see some sort of bundle for the Nintendo Switch, or perhaps its portable variant, the Switch Lite.Look for discounts on the main novelties

While Switch discounts can be hard to come by during Black Friday, Nintendo Switch games are a different story. Nintendo's own games (the Zelda and Mario titles, for example) tend to hold their value for many years. So when one of them drops in price, it's a big deal. This is exactly what happened at Walmart last year. The following games were available for €30, each usually costing around €50:- Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
- Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Mario Aces Tennis
- Resident Evil Origins Collection
- Splatoon 2
- Super Mario Party
