Vivo's next high-end Android phone could launch very soon

It turns out that the Chinese phone company Vivo could take the plunge and announce its new high-end Android phone much sooner than expected. At a Chinese press conference, as reported by users of the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Vivo's vice president confirmed that the company's next line of smartphones, the Vivo X70 line, will launch in September. The VP also confirmed that the company's first Android tablet will be released sometime in 2022, also hinting that the company will focus more on an ecosystem of products (i.e. watches, smartphones, tablets, headphones, etc.) . In short, the Vivo X60 launched a few days after Christmas in 2020, then saw a global launch further in 2021, so September would be pretty early compared to last-gen phones. However, the Vivo X70 will likely only launch in China, and we assume there will be a global launch in the following months.

Analysis: the world of the telephone is changing

The Vivo X70 isn't the only phone that could launch earlier than expected; We have heard rumors that the Xiaomi 12 could appear in November, not at the end of December as we expected. Phones released early is a pretty amazing thing, as over the last year, many devices have been delayed or even canceled outright. This is likely due to a global shortage of chipsets, which means companies are struggling to find the parts to build their phones. Phones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 21, Huawei Mate 50, and OnePlus 9T are known or believed to be canceled for this reason. Xiaomi and Vivo phones arriving early suggest the industry is picking up; perhaps our chipset woes are behind us, if companies are willing to take the plunge and announce devices ahead of expectations. This is especially the case with the Xiaomi 12 as rumors suggest that it will be released early so that it can be the first smartphone to use the expected high-end Snapdragon 898 chipset. Of course, this is all speculation for now, but the future of the mobile market is looking bright thanks to all these rumors. Hopefully we'll see fewer phones being delayed or canceled in 2022.
