Stripped of content, the Podcasts tab looks a bit spartan and uninspiring, but once the feature is (hopefully) available to everyone, it should be an exciting addition to the platform. .

Twitter could take this in several directions. It could be used for exclusive content which, in turn, could be used to increase revenue through advertising or subscriptions. There is also the possibility of licensed content or the possibility of Twitter users using the platform to start their own podcasts.

It could also be used as an extension to Twitter Spaces, which can already be saved as podcasts. As is often the case with an early discovery like this, all we can do is wait and see how things unfold.

While it's safe to say that podcast fans are spoiled for choice, or overwhelmed, depending on your perspective, when it comes to places to discover new content, it's important to remember a few things. First of all, are there still a lot of people who have yet to jump on the podcast bandwagon? Second, new ways of discovering and promoting content should always be welcomed.
