This little Windows touchscreen laptop is surprisingly inexpensive
Convertible laptops tend to offer a significant premium over more traditional models. But this new laptop goes against this trend; The Nanote is expected to land in Japan at just 19.800 yen (around US$185 / €150 / AU$285). The device's unique selling points are its 360-degree hinge and small 7-inch touchscreen, all for an equally small price. The Nanote looks similar to the Chuwi Minibook we saw last year, but it's even smaller at 181x114x19.6mm (weighing 520g). As you can imagine, its miniature footprint means it suffers from the same limitations; there's no trackpad (just an optical touch sensor) and the keyboard is cramped. The rest of the spec makes it painfully obvious that corners have been cut to keep the price down. The Nanote has a 5-year-old Intel Atom x8350-Z5, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and the device also has a microHDMI port, a 3,5mm audio jack, a microSD slot, USB 3.0 and Type-C ports, a 5000 mAh battery, a VGA webcam , WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. Made by a Japanese company, it seems highly unlikely that the Nanote will be available outside of its home country at this point. Via Liliputing
