App code suggests that Google could launch a Pixel 4a alongside the Pixel 4

Could we see a Google Pixel 4a appear sooner than expected? Right next to the Pixel 4 in the same presentation perhaps? This is suggested by a codename found in the upcoming Google Camera app.

9to5Google has investigated and found a reference to a "needle" on the device, along with the codenames "coral" and "flame" which we believe are related to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones.

This is essentially speculation at this stage, but this "garfish" name has already been mentioned, associated with a reference to Qualcomm, suggesting that the device is some sort of Android device with a Snapdragon chip inside. .

In fact, these codenames have been around for months, it's just a matter of knowing exactly what they're referring to.

Don't forget that the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL only launched in May. So it would come as a surprise if Google were to file another midway order in the next five months.

However, as pointed out by 9to5Google, there was talk about the fact that the Pixel 3a phones should initially arrive alongside the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Maybe Google wants to get into the routine of launching high-end and mid-range phones at the same time of year? It's something we've seen experiment with Apple and Samsung in recent years.

At this point, we just don't know what Google is planning, but we'll be posting announcements for its next launch event, scheduled for mid-October.
