Wait for your Minish Caps fans, Legend of Zelda: Nintendo has announced a bevy of new features and items available in Super Mario Maker 2, one of which allows you to don the green Hylian hero outfit. An upcoming update for Super Mario Maker 2 arrives on December 5 and includes a "Main Sword" item that makes Mario a link in the Legend of Zelda series. This item is only available in the retro Super Mario Bros. style, which means you won't see any 3D links, but you will enjoy its 8-Bit pixelated presence. . And it's not just the master sword you play with, either. A press release from Nintendo stated, "After downloading the 2.0.0 update, the new Master Sword item will be available for exclusive use in the 8-bit Super Mario Bros. style when this new part of the course is selected. Mario se will become Link, equipped with a new set of moves like attacking with a sword, shooting arrows, and throwing bombs." Although the Zelda crossover is the most notable part of the video, you can also see Mario using the other items added below:
- Board Block - Available in the Super Mario 3D World style, the board block course portion gives Mario considerable top speed when he steps on it.
- Frozen Piece - These pieces are surrounded by a block of ice and can only be released if they are fused with fireballs or other elements of fire, including an angry sun.
- P Block: When a P switch is touched on the course, invisible P blocks temporarily transform into hard platforms, or vice versa.
- Spike: This classic enemy spits out massive spike balls and throws them at Mario. If used in the snow, Spike will throw snowballs instead!
- Pokey - The iconic stacked cactus from various Super Mario games joins Super Mario Maker 2 for the first time. Players can even edit the height of each Pokey.
